ROUND
SHOULDERS. Rotate
the shoulder pads slightly forward on the form to create
a round shoulder line.
DOWAGERS

one of the contoured pads vertically along the spine in order
to re-create the curvature. Rotate the shoulder pads toward
the front of the form.
STRAIGHT
BROAD SHOULDERS. Place a "filler" pad under each shoulder pad and match
the measurement of your natural "straight" shoulder
line. (Add the shoulder pads LAST--and between the two covers--,
as you will need to adjust them when pulling clothes over
your form.)
WIDE
BACK. Place
the side back pads under the arm area, toward the back, to
match the natural horizontal back measurement.
SMALL
BACK. Use
only the front bust pads and eliminate the side back pads.

the side back pads, placed vertically under the bust line,
to fill in the natural high rib cage area.

point. Place the stomach pad at your natural vertical waist measurement.

pads to increase the measurement. Use two contoured stomach
pads, placed vertically
over the hip pads to further increase the measurement.

How can I make the dress form look like me?
Unless
your body looks just like the dress form, chances are you'll
need to make
some REAL SHAPE adjustments for creating a fabulous fit
in your clothes.
All you are doing is adding contoured pads to the
dress form, under a stretch cover, so the dress form becomes
YOU! You'll
see a world of difference in the fit!

the traditional paper mache forms?

Q.
What is the difference between the Cast Iron
Base & the Oak
Base?
It depends on how you work.
The Cast Iron Base is stronger,
heavier, and has casters. The Oak Base is much
lighter weight, although very well balanced.
Both forms will duplicate your
body with the pads, and stretch covers.
Q.
Is it difficult to change the form to work with
different people?
If
you're sewing for yourself, it's a good idea
to make the form perfectly you. Spend some time and
do it carefully.
The pads should
be added under
the two covers, and smoothed and stretched
and
placed just where you need them.
For costuming & custom
design, the pads can be placed
between the two covers and
switched all
the time. What pads you'll need for each body can be marked
on the measurement
chart and kept with
a
Polaroid of the form.
Q.
What about grain lines?
The
grain lines are built into the seams of the covers.
Front center, back center and princess apex, on the second cover,
and side seams on the first cover.
