You need Fabulous Fit®! The Patented Fitting System® is designed to match every area of your body on a dress form, so you can see exactly how your clothes will fit and feel. There are 14 contoured pads that address the shoulder area (wide or sloping), the bust (vertically and horizontally) side back (for a wider back), stomach, upper hip, thighs and back hips, (all vertically and horizontally). The
pads are soft and contoured and they adhere to the form under a
tight stretch cover. As you pull the cover onto the form (over
the top or through the legs), tuck the pads under the cover at
the vertical and horizontal measurement of that area. Then check
the shape and measurement, try something of your fit model's, or
your own on the form, and go onto the next area. You will easily identify why your jacket pulls across the shoulder. And as you see the fabric falling on the curves of the body, you will also see the adjustments needed to change the seam, or where to add the dart, or the pocket. Even hemming is easy when the fabric falls over the natural curves of the body. The possibilities are endless with a Fabulous Fit®! TIP:
I suggest that you slightly stretch each pad along
the body of the form to smooth the silhouette.
You
will receive a package with 13 molded contoured
pads, two sets of filler pads, and two body covers
with industry regulated seams.
The foam pads in your package are marked for their best positions. The pads are also interchangeable, and can be used in different areas of your form. The 5 large contoured pads are for shaping the lower body of the form. Before
you even start taking measurements, try something
of your own on the form, then sit down and look
through the instructions that come with your
form.
TIP: Use
the filler pads to give the long contoured
pads more definition for each area.
A
filler pad would work best placed under the middle
section of the stomach pad. For a high upper
hip, place the filler pad higher, under the contoured
pad. You will get a smoother upper hip. Slightly
stretch the pads against the body of the form
while placing them under the first cover (side
seam cover), to get a very natural shape.

than what you'll need, as you can
really match your shape, as well as your
measurements, when you build it out. And
you can pin, and steam, and gain, and lose,
and change as often as you wish. A lower
bust line is easily matched when you build
out the bust area, and place the bust pads
lower on the form.
Wide
backs can be re-created with the side back pads, uneven shoulders
tweaked with a "filler pad", and a lower waist or sway
back can be duplicated by feathering away some of the fiber of
the Body
wrap. A dowager's hump, thicker torso, or long or short
waist is easy to match...as long as you are building out. The possibilities are really endless! so much and again, this form is absolutely perfect,
there was a slightly change I made to the thighs
with the padding, but that was it! I can't believe
how much easier it is to create a pattern using
the dress form than it was by trying it on my
daughter. I can try it on as many times as I
want and the dress form doesn't complain! Next,

I did find find that by adding at the shoulders to the neckline first for a little height, I was able to get my "gravity laden" bust line in good proportion with the basic form's proportions. I also put in a little wrap across the upper back for a minimal Dowager's hump. That helped in my back measurement from the occipital bone to the waist. (18") Your recommendation of putting the pads under the wrap were excellent. I did use the thigh pads at the side waists. I did try on some clothes and the form is right on! It is also very smooth. Really looks good. Thank you. I already had your pants article from Vogue Pattern Magazine (1997). I am doing pants on it right now. Thank you for getting me into doing everything right. That was good. I have no sewing community here in Vermont.
