Circles of love..

Free-falling pinwheels attached to a bandeau...Ahhh the joy!

Cutting the pinwheels is nothing more the twirly things we made at six: just a larger scale.  Outside trim: tiny embroidery stitch.  Inside circle: satin binding with a double row of gathers.  This is the fun part.  With the bandeau on the dress form...turn up the music and start pinning pinwheels to flatter the curves on your form.  So fun to wear!  None of the pinwheels are attached to each other so legs will show when you or sit, or twirl...

YOU WILL NEED:

5 Pinwheels cut with 59 inch fabric,  satin cording for inside stitch and  1 Underlay to attach pinwheels

                                    Each pinwheel is a yard of cotton organdy...shaped like this...Dots = outside tiny stitch.

DOTS =  EMBROIDERED HEM

For a really, really full skirt, make huge pinwheels with a double row gathering stitch at the top of each pinwheel.

When you fit the bandeau really close to the waist, then cut the hem of the bandeau at different lengths, you can stagger the placement of the pinwheels.  The elastic is then placed between the two layers of the underskirt. (flatters any waist._)  (Pic.2 & 3)  A more serious underlay will make the pinwheels stand out like a daisy from the waist.  (Pic.1).

 FOR A SUPER FULL UNDERLAY...

FOR A SUPER FULL UNDERLAY...

The a opening circle in the center (2 X your actual waist measurement would do) or the underlay bandeau, which is just a short ruffle without gathers to anchor the pinwheels.

The pinwheels are heavy, so be sure your anchor is strong, with a comfortable elastic; between the layers or on top.

Pic. 2 above: The under skirt could be as revealing as 11 inches, as long as it is strong for your anchor.

This is the fun part!  With the bandeau on the dress form...turn up the music and start pinning pinwheels to flatter the curves on your form.  So fun to wear!  None of the pinwheels are attached to each other so legs will show when you or sit or twirl...

 Trim the top of each pinwheel with satin cording with two rows of stitches.  Pic. #1 shows the all of the pinwheel in motion.

The loops of the satin binding are then attached to the linen underlay, at random places, with a 1 inch double stitch.  EVEN Fuller ruffles?  Gather the double rows of stitches at the satin binding, and the ruffles will pump!  (Pic. below)
